On the Radar

The Project on Nuclear Issues is looking provide individuals in the nuclear field with a framework and resources for thinking about a range of emerging technologies that improve or detract from a country’s strategic situational awareness. This tech enhances a country’s ability to characterize the operating environment including adversary capabilities and distribution of forces, to detect attacks, and to discern actual attacks from false alarms across the spectrum of conflict, both conventional and nuclear. The rapid pace of technology may greatly enhance the detail, precision and timeliness of strategic situation awareness but also may increase strategic stability risks in ways that are not yet fully know or understood.

Much of the specifics about these evolving technologies is difficult to find and scattered through a range of fields. This website aims to compile this information in a manageable way that appeals to experts in a range of related fields.
